Shakespeare’s soothsayer warned Cesar, “Be ware the Ides of March!” He didn’t and things didn’t turn out very good for him. But we’ve got news for you -- every month has an ides! Not just March! The ides of any month is an arcane way to say the 15th. We say, celebrate the ides of each month by opening a nice Gamay Beaujolais. There’s nothing to worry about. So relax and enjoy. Maybe even watch a movie. (Wink) We think that’s a pretty good reason to drink.
Friday might be a good enough reason to drink, but this particular Friday also happens to be Mozart's Birthday. What would The Shawshank Redemption be without the Canzonetta sull'aria (or Letter Aria)? Drink in the beauty as you drink a nice wine.
We've got an excellent reason to drink! The Hollywood Bowl announced their 2012 schedule today. Pixar in concert? The Producers? Fireworks!! Well, to that we say that it’s time to open up a bottle and peruse the schedule for the hot summer events.
May we recommend the Bota Box Pinot Grigio '09? It’s under $20 at BevMo.com and there’s plenty to turn tix shopping into an impromptu fiesta.
The office was abuzz with debate. There was news, but was it a good reason to drink? We voted. The girls won. Jon Hamm let slip the date Mad Men will return to the air for their 5th season. Apparently, March 25th will also be a good day to open a bottle, so this one's a two-fer.
Need a reason to drink? We're raising a glass to the brief evidence that the government is actually working. Just this week, in a rare moment of governmental solidarity, the FCC unanimously ruled that commercials can no longer be louder than the TV shows.
Huzzah!
That sounds like a good reason to raise a glass to us.
How about a Pinot Blanc? Citrusy, light, refreshing. Kind of like when government works.
